Long Island City Community Boathouse

Long Island City, Queens

Project snapshot

At the Long Island City Community Boathouse, we offer kayaking experiences to improve mental and physical well-being. Our kayaking programs provide an outlet for urban youth to recreate and exercise and are an antidote for people experiencing social isolation. Time spent on our waterways results in awareness of ecological situations such as pollution and climate change. Participants observe wildlife in their natural habitats such as birds, fish and even an occasional dolphin. One of our goals is to operate more events at multiple sites, simultaneously by attracting the volunteers to staff our on water events. We will invest in graphics communications assets such as banners, posters, handouts and signage. We would improve and expand our existing investments in communications technologies.
