Project snapshot

Melrose’s new generation’s mission is to embellish and improve community self-importance in the neighborhood, while nurturing curiosity by providing hands-on learning opportunities for children and adults, empowering them to grow healthy food in a tranquil nurturing space.

Melrose New generation is looking for capital to improve our community garden, we have been working hard to improve our garden to make it safe and beautiful throughout the years, our Youth Leadership pursues to keep motivated, positive the youth are interested in learning about community gardening and making a difference in their neighborhood. Our Youth have learned skills such as planting, harvesting, composting, mulching, and building they have hosted many events in your garden, such as a PPE give-away of masks and sanitation wipes healthy eating, Easter event, awareness months on different topics, relaxation in an open green space.

Our priority goal is to bring the committee closer to an open space by increasing free events in the garden reaching a diverse audience by partnering with residents and other garden groups.
Our long-term goal is to keep the program in the garden and grow more food and keep it safe and clean. Last year we had many hitches with rats in our community garden
This year we would update our garden beds, would change our garden beds to a safe one and taller for the rats inclined in them the cost is much big, but much needed in our garden, plus we would love to add a greenhouse to start early, we need your support in making this happen
