Project snapshot

Melrose New Generation: The project produces cultural cuisine prepared from vegetables grown in a community garden, showcasing diverse cultural foodways and facilitating cross-cultural exchange. Free, open events serve 50–100 participants per session, combining cooking demonstrations, tastings, and outreach to expand community networks and increase food sovereignty. Post-event evaluations inform iterative improvements. The initiative strengthens social cohesion, preserves culinary heritage, promotes healthy, locally grown produce, and raises awareness of food access challenges within the community.
