Project snapshot

Herramientas de Esperanza will provide essential tool kits to 35 day laborers who gather at Home Depot and along 69th Street and Roosevelt Avenue in Queens. Each kit contains a safety helmet, work gloves, safety goggles, dust mask, utility knife, measuring tape, tool belt, a bottle of water and energy bar, and a Spanish safety information card. Kits are distributed during a morning session with hands-on demonstrations of equipment use and safe-work practices. The project reduces occupational injury risk, increases access to PPE and safety education, and strengthens community trust.
