Project snapshot

Our school community needs this project for two key reasons: (1) to beautify the building?s exterior, reflecting the positive activities inside, and (2) to provide our students with more interaction with nature during the school day. The garden is our only green space; students light up when they?re there since we lack a playground. My goals are to beautify the garden and strengthen relationships within our community. If we secure this grant, we hope to involve more parents and caregivers, as we?ll need extra hands. We host a multicultural potluck dinner annually, highlighting what we grow in the garden. Celebrating our diversity through plants and herbs fosters positive exchanges. With renewed interest and an irrigation system, we hope to maintain the garden year-round, even during summer. This project will bring people together, spark memories and stories, and generate more involvement and potential funding.
