Project snapshot

Garden Wisdom & Earthly Sounds: Organizes four community events combining technical workshops on vegetable fermentation for food preservation and waste reduction; herbal medicine preparation from garden herbs; composting methods and soil amendment application; and garden-based flood mitigation and rain garden techniques. Each session pairs applied instruction with a world-music concert showcasing folk instruments, fostering cultural engagement. The project builds local capacity for sustainable food systems, urban soil health, and stormwater resilience, improving public health and environmental stewardship in East Harlem.
