Project snapshot

PS 163 School-Based Food Pantry Project mobilizes quarterly school-hosted distributions staffed by parent and student volunteers to deliver grocery bags containing shelf-stable items, fresh produce, and culturally relevant staples to 75–100 families per event. The initiative integrates resource tables for benefit navigation (SNAP, housing, and local services) and strengthens school–family ties, reducing stigma, improving household food security, and enhancing community resilience.
