Project snapshot

PS 169 PTA’s The School Pantry Initiative stabilizes and expands a school-based food pantry to ensure consistent access to nutritious food and hygiene items for families in need. The project purchases pantry supplies and cooking tools, delivers cooking classes using pantry ingredients, and fosters peer support led by school staff, PTA, and parent volunteers. By increasing visibility, reducing stigma, and building partnerships, the initiative strengthens food security, cultural connection, and community resilience.
