Project snapshot

The St. Vartan Park Conservancy is leading the charge in transforming a public park garden that was previously inaccessible for decades into an inclusive space for the community. Through this project, they aim to improve visitors’ mental health and environmental awareness by painting a mural on a park building wall, as well as beautifying the garden and planting beds throughout the 2.76-acre park. The project will also serve as an educational tool for the community, so they can learn about the changing ecosystem of the land. As there is currently no designated NYC Parks gardener, the Conservancy has taken on a stewardship role to ensure its success.
