Project snapshot

Stoop Stories is continuing its work to connect, support, and celebrate NYC neighbors through documentary storytelling and neighborhood programs. Their mission focuses on preserving neighborhood stories, strengthening social health, and revitalizing communities by fostering intergenerational connections rooted in stoop culture. In 2023, Stoop Stories launched an intergenerational initiative aimed at reducing loneliness and increasing engagement in underserved communities. The project includes a series of short documentary films and storytelling workshops. For the next installment, they will produce a collaborative documentary film featuring two Brooklynites from different generations. This project offers a unique opportunity for residents to shape their own narratives, engage in community activities, and participate in workshops. The final film will be showcased in a free public screening, encouraging meaningful discussions and strengthening neighborhood ties.
