The Brooklyn International High School

Downtown Brooklyn, Brooklyn

Project snapshot

BIHS Boutique & Pantry operates a free-store providing basic clothing and shelf-stable food to students and families. The project plans to expand to monthly family-night distributions of fresh produce and perishable foods, requiring procurement, cold storage, pre-event pickup, inventory sorting, and onsite distribution. Implementation will include purchasing refrigeration, coordinating volunteer logistics for transport and handling, and establishing product flow and waste-reduction protocols. This service reduces food insecurity, supports family stability, and increases equitable access to nutritious food and essential clothing in the school community.
