TREE BED REVITALIZATION PROJECT

Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn

Project snapshot

Tree Bed Revitalization Project is a building community spirit and environmental stewardship in our neighborhood. This project addresses the need for unity and respect among both long-standing residents and newcomers. Through a series of hands-on tasks like watering, pruning, and beautifying tree beds and planters along Hancock, Jefferson, and Stuyvesant Avenues, we’ve fostered a collective sense of pride and ownership. Our efforts expand beyond physical labor; we actively engage the community through participation in local events, distribution of informative flyers, and digital messaging. Partnering with the Bridge Street Development Corporation and leveraging expertise from local cultural institutions and businesses, we offer workshops that educate on plant care and tree bed maintenance, enriching our communal knowledge and involvement.
