Young Leaders Elementary and PS 179X are committed to ensuring that all students have access to essential clothing items through their school-based clothing bank. While ongoing community donations help sustain the program, gaps in sizing and seasonally appropriate clothing remain a challenge. This initiative seeks funding to fill those gaps, ensuring that students have dignified access to properly fitting clothes throughout the year. Additionally, because the clothing bank primarily relies on used donations, new undergarments are not accepted, creating a crucial need for funding to provide these items. The schools also aim to address the high demand for shoes, particularly for growing children who quickly size out of footwear. With additional support, they will be able to provide students with weather-appropriate shoes for all seasons, ensuring that no child goes without necessary clothing to feel comfortable, confident, and prepared for school.
