I am requesting support for LH Radio, an independent community web radio station based in Queens, broadcasting live from the Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Ave MTA station. Our goal is to create a community-focused platform offering multilingual, locally-produced content. LH Radio will serve as a hub for immigrant and long-time residents, providing community outreach, cultural conversation, and organizing. The station will feature live and pre-recorded content, including talk shows, podcasts, DJ sessions, and live music, making media accessible to all. This project will revitalize the abandoned space, promote local economic growth, and strengthen community ties. Funding will support startup costs, positioning us for future sustainability.
