I am proud to share about Salsa Stories, an incredible Open Street operations partner that thrives thanks to DOT’s funding. To us, community transcends the traditional sense. It’s about shared values, the warmth of a chosen family, and providing a support network that feels like home, especially in a city so rich with immigrants. We focus on fostering belonging because we strongly believe that promoting our culture prevents idle habits that might lead to crime and drug usage. The group was formed organically with the desire to work towards a common goal of preserving our history through culture as we bring residents together to improve neighborhood life.
