Project snapshot
FRUAV launches Safe Start, a targeted intervention providing weekly after-school social-emotional learning, trained youth mentorship, creative-expression workshops, and logistical supports (snacks, supplies, transportation) for 50–100 at-risk children in Brooklyn’s District 42. The program mitigates trauma-related academic and behavioral risks by building emotional resilience, self-esteem, healthy coping skills, and stable adult relationships, reducing pathways to juvenile justice and improving school and community outcomes.
