Project snapshot
Jardin La Familia convenes intergenerational garden-based programming pairing 10–15 seniors with youth volunteers per session to deliver talk-and-paint, arts-and-crafts, storytelling, and sustainable gardening instruction. The project creates an accessible community garden, advances environmental education, and fosters social support networks to mitigate senior isolation and teach resilience and survival skills. Outcomes include improved senior mental and physical well-being, strengthened cross-generational ties, increased community stewardship, and materials/equipment provision for approximately twenty senior participants per event.
