CitizensNYC Announces Coralie Charriol Paul to Co-Chair Inaugural Advisory Council, Dennis Paul to Join Board of Directors

Micro-granting organization also announces upcoming All In for NYC Week Oct. 11-14

NEW YORK - Citizens Committee for New York City (CitizensNYC) today announced the launch of its Advisory Council, and the expansion of its Board of Directors, as it welcomes Dennis Paul as the newest board member. Coralie Charriol Paul will help launch the organization’s Advisory Council in the role of co-chair, alongside five additional co-chairs who are set to be announced at the organization’s Evening on the Lake fundraiser on October 14, 2021. CitizensNYC is one of the nation’s oldest micro-granting organizations whose mission is to help New Yorkers -- especially those in low-income communities -- improve their quality of life. The new Advisory Council brings together a dynamic group of leaders across industries, dedicated to uplifting the organization’s mission and rebuilding New York City’s communities following the impact of the pandemic.

Coralie Charriol Paul is interim-CEO, Chairwoman of the Board, and Creative Director of the global Swiss watch and jewelry brand CHARRIOL. Outside of her work, she is a dedicated philanthropist, social issue documentary film producer, surfer, and mother of 3 children.  Coralie has worked with the international organization Graduate Women International (GWI) to advocate for women’s rights, equality, and empowerment through lifelong education. Dennis Paul is currently a Senior Advisor at Blackstone, as well as the Founder and Managing Member of Thyra Global Management, a boutique private equity investment firm active in the real estate, technology and consumer sectors. Together, the couple has launched the award-winning non-profit REACT to FILM, a middle/high school civics education platform for at-risk youth that leverages the best documentary films to spark civic engagement among America’s next generation.  Their film production company, React Films, has helped produce award-winning documentary films and series including HBO’s “100 Foot Wave”, Discovery’s “The Story of Plastic”, and “Slay the Dragon” about gerrymandering in the US political system.

“Coralie and Dennis’s dedication to empowering communities around New York City and beyond is deeply inspiring, and we’re honored to welcome them to our team as we introduce our Advisory Council and grow our Board of Directors,” said Dr. Rahsaan Harris, CEO of CitizensNYC. “We are confident their passion and expertise will strengthen our ability to support our grantee partners working tirelessly to rebuild our city through the pandemic.”

In October, CitizensNYC will host a week of events to encourage communities to come together and take action to rethink, reimagine and rebuild New York City.

About Citizens Committee for New York City:

Citizens Committee for New York City’s mission is to help New Yorkers - especially those in low-income areas - come together and improve the quality of life in their neighborhoods. Residents are uniquely situated to define and act on the issues affecting their communities. When provided with modest support, neighborhood and school groups can effectively mobilize with the assistance of grants, skills-building workshops, project planning assistance and an equipment share library. In 2020, CitizensNYC provided 402 projects with nearly $1.2M in direct cash grants, impacting more than 87,685 residents in 122 neighborhoods across all five boroughs. Since 1975, we have promoted the spirit of volunteerism, local engagement, and social justice that drives our work. Go to citizensnyc.org to learn more.
