149th Street South Ozone Park Civic Association is starting a Youth Capacity Building Initiative to train and mobilize young residents as community leaders. Programmatic components include leadership workshops, civic education seminars, mentorship, community service projects, and partnership-based monthly events with schools, libraries, and elected officials. Participants acquire advocacy, public speaking, project planning, and organizing skills and execute community-led neighborhood improvement campaigns. The initiative builds organizational and youth leadership capacity, strengthens civic engagement, and sustains quality-of-life improvements for South Ozone Park.
