Project snapshot

Artichoke Dance Company leads a cross-sector project engaging artists, scientists, environmental groups and community members to transform shoreline-collected debris into an interactive installation complemented by public build workshops and participatory dance activations. The exhibit integrates QR-linked educational resources and petitions, hosts expert panels, and serves as a civic-engagement platform to highlight waterway threats—trash, sewage overflows and contaminants such as PCBs. Designed to educate, mobilize volunteers and expand advocacy networks, the project converts creative participation into measurable community action for healthier New York Harbor waterways.
