Project snapshot
Bee University NYC (Bee-U) is transforming environmental education through its Urban Beekeeping Fellowship (UBF)—a summer-long program for youth ages 16-24. By blending hands-on beekeeping training with leadership development and environmental advocacy, UBF equips participants with valuable skills while fostering a deeper connection to sustainability. Fellows engage in hive management, create honey-based products, and attend field trips to museums and networking panels, all while exploring pathways to green careers. By bridging the gap between communities of color and the environmental sector, Bee-U empowers young leaders to explore green job opportunities, ensuring long-term economic and environmental resilience. This initiative is a vital step in creating access to sustainability education and careers.
