Project snapshot
The Curatorial Program for Research is etched in the Williamsburg arts community by providing free professional development for underserved local BIPOC artists. With a significant 23% poverty rate in a predominantly Latino and African American population, CPR addresses the unique challenges these artists face amidst gentrification. By fostering a sense of community and offering professional opportunities, CPR aims to create a sustainable environment for all. Our signature workshop series empowers local curators and artists, enhancing BIPOC representation in New York and beyond. We tailor our curriculum to meet the specific needs of each artist, ensuring long-term engagement through future art shows, talks, and exhibitions. Many alumni return for further collaboration, reflecting CPR’s lasting impact and commitment to nurturing local talent.
