Project snapshot

In 2024, I’m leading community-centered activities to promote healthier eating through our restaurant. Our initiatives include healthy cooking classes for local Girl Scout troops, a booth at the annual LIC Springs street fair with cooking demos, and regular workshops on healthy eating habits. These efforts aim to combat health issues like obesity and diabetes by educating both kids and adults on the nutritional benefits of food. Funded by this grant, we’ll leverage our community ties and active social media to increase engagement. Post-grant, we plan to sustain these activities through donations, sponsorships, and continued grant applications. By teaching practical cooking skills and the healing power of food, we strive to foster a healthier, more informed community.
