Holding Hands Ministries is expanding its food pantry services to better serve individuals and families facing food insecurity in the Coney Island community. By extending distribution hours beyond traditional pantry times, including evenings and inclement weather accommodations, they ensure working families and those with limited availability can access nutritious meals. Their biggest goal—a mobile pantry—will bring food directly to underserved neighbors, increasing accessibility for those unable to travel to the pantry. To further enhance their impact, Holding Hands Ministries is building stronger relationships with local farmers and grocers to secure fresh produce donations, ensuring culturally diverse and nutritious food options. Additionally, they plan to implement a digital tracking system to streamline client intake, manage inventory, and reduce wait times.
