Isabahlia Ladies Of Elegance Foundation

Brownsville, Brooklyn

Project snapshot

The Isabahlia Ladies of Elegance Foundation (ILOEF) is expanding its efforts to combat health disparities in Brownsville through its annual Healthy Food Fair Festival. With Brownsville ranking among the highest in diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease, this event serves as a crucial initiative to educate residents on the importance of nutrition and access to fresh food. This year, ILOEF aims to reach even more residents by increasing food tastings, cooking demonstrations, and produce giveaways. The festival will bring together chefs, healthcare providers, and community partners to provide hands-on education about healthy eating while distributing fresh, locally grown produce. Leading up to the festival, ILOEF will engage the community with additional food tastings to encourage healthier eating habits.
