Project snapshot
Loisaida Realty is a Manhattan-based boutique real estate firm founded by Francisco Gonzalez, a devoted advocate for accessible housing in the rapidly gentrifying city. With the grant, they would fund marketing and educational materials, travel for property viewings and workshops, and maintain their office as a resource center to broaden their client pool. They focus on working with clients who hold housing vouchers, such as Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV), Section 8, and CityFHEPS. During the pandemic, Francisco volunteered to distribute food and PPE to seniors and homebound tenants in NYCHA while also using his office space as a distribution center. Additionally, he partnered with Asian Americans for Equality (AAFE) to provide temporary relocation for families and gave webinars and seminars to educate other brokers and property owners on the EHV program. He also works as a broker for commercial spaces, mainly to represent women/minority-owned businesses and serve on the board of the East Village Independent Merchant Association (EVIMA).
