Project snapshot

Milpa~Sana will deliver a day-long Healing Justice Clinic to improve family health by reconnecting participants to ancestral practices and land-based healing. The program provides hands-on herbal medicine workshops, ancestral corn-based cooking, circle-based emotional/mental health support, bodywork, preventative health practices, and distribution of locally grown seasonal food. Two panels will convene Indigenous food sovereignty leaders and restorative-justice/traditional-peacemaking practitioners. The initiative strengthens community resilience, builds food sovereignty capacity, and catalyzes development of a BIPOC-led urban farm for ecological restoration and sustainable urban agriculture.
