Project snapshot

MVP Swimmers is launching “Swim Safe Bronx 2025,” a community-driven initiative to expand water safety education and swimming access for underserved families. This project will establish four seasonal Water Safety Weeks at Evander Childs High School, transforming the space into a comprehensive hub for water safety awareness. Each session will include interactive assemblies at five local elementary schools, reaching 2,000 students with engaging demonstrations on water safety. Additionally, 20 need-based scholarships per season will provide children with access to expert-led, American Red Cross-certified swim instruction. To further support families, bilingual parent workshops in English and Spanish will address cultural barriers and equip caregivers with essential knowledge about swimming education. By partnering with schools, training bilingual instructors, and developing culturally relevant materials, MVP Swimmers is creating a sustainable model for water safety education that will foster a lifelong culture of swimming confidence and safety in the Bronx.
