Project snapshot

Haven Cycles operates a textile repair and mending program that provides free, accessible clothing repair and hands-on textile education to the Bushwick community and beyond. The maker-operated workspace houses four industrial sewing machines, multiple tabletop machines, and salvaged fabrics maintained collectively. Regular community repair days extend garment lifespans, reduce waste, and teach practical sewing skills that build self-sufficiency and mutual aid. Additional funding will enable expanded programming, higher-quality materials, and scaled educational offerings to sustain and grow this autonomous community resource.
