Project snapshot

Our project aims to transform derelict overpasses and scaffolding sheds in the Lower East Side, often overlooked for funding and innovative solutions. By using recycled materials like bottles, cans, and donated paint, we hope to inspire a community-driven transformation. Our goal is to beautify neglected areas, engage and unite the community, and inspire similar projects. The outcome will be a vibrant Essex Street, increased community pride, and a showcase of the impact of using recycled materials. Local businesses, volunteers, and community centers will collect materials and assist with installation. On Earth Day, teams will work together to bring light and hope to the Lower East Side. With support from the Citizens Committee, we’ll show how something beautiful can be created from nothing.
