Project snapshot
The Play Lab’s Nature Meets Innovation project is expanding its innovative early education model to local preschools in East Brooklyn. By offering specialized STEAM workshops, this initiative will bring nature-based Montessori learning to children ages 2-4 in underserved areas. Through four months of hands-on, mobile workshops, children will engage with eco-friendly experiments, creative building activities, and sensory science, fostering a deep connection to nature while building critical skills in early childhood education. The project will also train local teachers to implement the curriculum, creating a sustainable pipeline of STEAM educators. A culminating “STEAM Showcase and Family Day” will celebrate the children’s learning, while take-home materials encourage family engagement. This project helps bridge the gap for preschools that lack resources, ensuring all children, regardless of background, have access to high-quality, affordable early education that nurtures creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration.
