Project snapshot
We are Detectives, Inc.: the organization conducts a comprehensive empowerment project at a Kips Bay senior center delivering six specialized workshops in two phases on elder-abuse prevention, scam and fraud recognition, identity-theft protection, estate planning, money management, and senior self-defense. Each session is led by 2–3 organization volunteers alongside a local NYPD Crime Prevention Officer, combining legal, financial, and physical-safety instruction. The initiative builds resilience, practical skills, and confidence among older residents, reducing vulnerability and promoting independent, secure participation in the community.
