Project snapshot

Pollinator Highway: Constructs connected urban corridors of native flowering plants (e.g., milkweed) across mapped community gardens to enhance habitat connectivity for pollinators, increase local biodiversity, and support ecosystem services. Activities include strategic native seedling procurement, coordinated plantings, a training workshop at Westbrook Memorial Garden, and partnership with Brooklyn Queens Land Trust for network mobilization. The project advances urban ecological resilience while providing community wellness programming and volunteer engagement that strengthens neighborhood stewardship and pollinator resource continuity.
